Lost Wax Records is an indie label based out of New York. During the sketching and ideation process, we asked the owner if wax was a reference to vinyl LPs. His answer: “Yes. It’s a dual meaning. It’s about vinyl records, and also about the lost-wax casting process. I see writing music as similar to that process.” So in our minds, it only made sense to create a logo that could reference both sides of the double meaning.
